Routine Finder

Answer three questions to see the workout routine example that fits your week.

How the Routine Finder works

Every combination of training days and equipment has its own weekly routine example, so the one you see uses the days and the equipment you picked. We use how long you've been lifting to choose between two options on 3 and 5 gym days, add a line about sets and effort, and sometimes suggest a second option worth a look.

For help with the number of days, see How many days a week to work out?, and for how the splits compare, see Push pull legs vs upper lower vs full body.

Common questions

Is the pick a prescription?

No. It's an example of what a training week can look like. Every exercise lists a swap, so you can trade anything that doesn't suit you or your gym.

What if I can train 7 days a week?

Our weekly examples use 2 to 6 lifting days. On a seventh day, you could walk or do mobility work, like our 8-week walking plan or hip and lower back mobility routine.

How long do I stay on one routine?

Running the same routine for a couple of months or more gives you time to add weight and reps from week to week. After that, you can keep going, or switch splits if your schedule changes.

Does the Routine Finder save my answers?

No. It runs in your browser, and nothing you pick leaves your device.

These are examples of what a training week can look like, not a prescription or medical advice. If you have an injury or a health condition, talk to your doctor before you start a new routine.
